Aims:
- To provide a supportive environment in which sociology higher degree students can network
- To promote the development of academic skills applicable during and after higher degree study
- To showcase a range of post-higher degree career pathways to sociology higher degree students

About The Award
The TASA/AASR Postgraduate Conference Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 with funds donated by the former Australian Association of Social Research Inc. (AASR). The scholarship’s aim to support postgraduate participation at TASA annual conferences. TASA members also contribute to this fund via the annual membership form.
The TASA Executive would like to encourage postgraduate members to apply. Academic supervisors are also asked to encourage their students to apply for this award.

The Prize
The recipient of the prize will receive:
- Registration for the 2008 TASA conference
- Registration for the pre-conference TASA Annual Postgraduate Workshop
- A letter of acknowledgement of receipt of scholarship
Eligibility Criteria
Those eligible for consideration of the scholarship will meet the following criteria:
- Current enrolment in an Honours, Masters or PhD program
- Acceptance of paper as part of the refereed proceedings of TASA Conference 2008 (see details on the application form (28kb PDF))
- Applicant is the sole author on the paper
- Not previously a recipient of the award
- Current financial TASA members
Note that other circumstances such as financial hardship, remote location and family circumstances can be taken into consideration if described on the application form.
